If you have a special print in mind, let us know. We can source it and custom frame it for you. Upper Shaker Ensemble / Shaker Hanging Cupboard / Shaker Rolling Cupboard
The solid Oak Shaker Hanging Cupboard is authentic in construction, detail, and size. This is the most well-proportioned cabinet we have ever seen. It is simply a neat little cabinet. The interior has 2 shelves, and is ideal for spice storage. The Shakers actually hung this cabinet from pegs on the wall. We have done the same, but have attached it to the back wall with screws, as well. We select interesting and matched wood grain patterns for our specialty furnishings.
The Shaker Peg Board has a painted Pine base with a stained Oak top. The top has a plate rail groove. The cutting board is really not Shaker, but is typical of 'Tavern Boards' used at inns and watering holes along the roads of rural America during the 19th century. They were used as combination cutting boards/serving plates at the bar. At 1 1/16" thick, one can't help but think they would also serve as good defense against the occasional ner-'do-well who happened by... The Shaker Rolling Base Cupboard reflects the Shaker design, but is not truely authentic in every detail. The mobile cabinet is an excellent compliment to the upper ensemble as they look great together or apart. Both of the cabinets seen here have the 'flat panel' door design; later Shaker cabinetry incorporated some 'raised panel' designs as well. | ||
